At Dwelling Doctors, we believe our work should make a difference that goes beyond fixing mould.
Yes, creating healthier homes is what we do. But the impact of our work should reach further than the properties themselves. It should support people, strengthen communities and create real opportunities.
That is what social value is all about.
And here is a real example of how that looks in practice.
Delivering Real Impact from Day One
On our contract with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, we have already delivered over £154,000 in social value. That is 59% of the total target, even though the contract itself is only about 25% complete.
We are proud of this progress, not just because of the number, but because of what it represents. Real people supported. Real opportunities created. Real communities engaged.
For us, social value is not something saved for the end of a project. It is something we build into the work from the very beginning.
So, What Does Social Value Actually Mean?
Social value is about the difference a project makes outside of the core service.
In simple terms, it is the positive impact created alongside the main work.
That might include:
Behind every mould issue is a person who deserves a safe and healthy place to live. Social value allows us to support those people in ways that go beyond treatment alone.
It is about doing the right thing, not just doing the job.
Looking Ahead with CUREDD
We are also working to expand our impact even further through our new charity initiative, CUREDD.
CUREDD will allow us to support more people, reach more communities and continue raising awareness about the dangers of mould and the importance of healthy homes.
This is an exciting step forward for us, and we are looking forward to sharing more updates soon.
Why Social Value Matters to Us
Delivering measurable social value is a key part of how we work at Dwelling Doctors.
It reflects our values, our purpose and our commitment to improving lives, not just properties.
Because real success is not only measured in the work we complete, but in the difference we make along the way.
