At Dwelling Doctors, we often talk about the golden triangle of mould prevention: ventilation, insulation and heating.

We have built our reputation by solving the first two — delivering mechanical ventilation systems and insulation upgrades quickly, effectively and at scale. These solutions prevent mould and improve indoor air quality.

But one problem kept coming back. It was not something we could fix with tools.

Again and again, we visited homes where the systems were working exactly as designed, yet mould was still returning. The reason was simple: residents could not afford to heat their homes.

It was not about broken systems. It was about poverty. No matter how well ventilated or insulated a property is, without heating, mould will always come back.

This is where CUREDD was born.

CUREDD (Charity for Underheated Residents and Energy by Dwelling Doctors) is an independent registered charity created by the team behind Dwelling Doctors. It exists to provide direct, practical support to residents living in fuel poverty.

Support includes:

• Emergency top-ups for prepayment meters
• Crisis heating provision
• Advice and guidance to reduce energy debt

CUREDD helps vulnerable households stay warm, safe and well. It is not an add-on. It is a core part of our social value commitment — supporting people even when we have already done everything we can as contractors.
